Waterjet cutting uses a high-pressure jet of water mixed with abrasive to cut a wide range of materials. Because it is a cold process, there is no heat-affected zone, no warping and no metallurgical change — ideal for stainless, aluminium, copper and specialty alloys.
The trade-off is cutting speed: waterjet is slower than laser, so it is best suited to heat-sensitive parts and lower volumes.
